Santa Barbara Equality Project
The Strategic Alliance for Marriage Equality (SAME) changed its name to Santa Barbara Equality Project in 2010 in order to signal our intentions to focus on issues beyond Marriage Equality even as we continue to press for Marriage Equality. We strive to build coalitions with groups across the County and the Central Coast who work to create inclusive and just communities. The goal of Santa Barbara Equality Project is to motivate and promote local activism to achieve equality for all at a local, state, and national level. We are made up a diverse group of volunteers including members of the LGBTQ communities, straight communities, as well as parents, youth, elders, people of color, Spanish-speakers, and people of faith. We intentionally seek to make the circle wider.
